In statistics mode, the player can view his results and view detailed reports on his shooting performance, hits and damage and those of other units. Each fight brings experience points and (probably) rewards for the player's team and his troops after the fight. The player can complete tasks by commanding either a single tank (armored train) or other units in tactic card mode. Each tank has an interactive cockpit where the player can use a mouse to perform basic operations: select sights, switch between crew stations, stowed position, work with the tank equipment and select the grenade to load. ALso you need to buy upgrades when they release new major version, such like from 4.1 to 4.3 if you want to upgrade it. But it is worth only if you are going to play it pretty much 24/7 as initial investment is high. It is also more cost effective, classic licence is costly, but it is not time limited. The strategic layer is like in Graviteam tactics, the tactical map during missions is somewhat clunky, but usable.Įdit: Also if you buy Time limited licence for Steel Beasts, you will be able to upgrade to 4.3 when it releases.
What I don't like about Steel Armor is the whole strategic layer and that you must control other units via tactical map in the missions to be succesfull. Downside is that it only has those two tanks, but very well modeled. Don't remember if it even has helicopters, good thing about it is that it has rarely seen theathres such as angola, irag-iran war, afganistan.
